49% of all visitors came from abroad, 7% more than in 2024, highlighting the event’s growing global and professional scope. Spain maintained a strong presence and was represented by Andalusia, Valencia, Murcia, and Catalonia. The international attendees were mainly from Europe (Italy, France, the Netherlands, and the UK), as well as Peru, Chile, Brazil, and South Africa.
The number of exhibitors also reached historic levels, with 2,485 companies from 64 countries occupying 78,212 net square metres. This marks an 11% increase in exhibition space and a 13% rise in exhibitors compared to 2024.
Additionally, Fruit Attraction has offered a platform for international promotion and growth through the International Buyers Program, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food, ICEX, and Fepex. This program attracted 600 major buyers, retail purchasing managers, importers, and wholesalers from 58 countries to Madrid. The Guest Importing Countries program, which this year included Malaysia and Mexico, was also a highlight.
The series of technical conferences and congresses, along with Factoría Chef by #alimentosdespaña, attracted over 3,200 participants across 95 sessions, focusing on key trends in innovation, sustainability, logistics, and fruit and vegetable technologies.
The tomato took center stage in this edition. It was designated the Star Product due to its culinary, nutritional, and cultural significance, as well as its representation of excellence and sustainability in the nation’s fruit and vegetable sector. Throughout the event, the sector was honored with activities such as the Tomato Attraction Forum, showcooking events at Factoría Chef, tastings, and the setup of a greenhouse garden in Plaza #alimentosdespaña. Additionally, the Tomato 2025 Awards celebrated innovation, promotion, and the achievements of key industry figures.
The fair also hosted several sectoral meetings, including the Joint Fruit and Vegetable Committee of France, Italy, Spain, and Portugal. This committee was attended by representatives from growers’ and marketers’ associations from the four nations, along with the heads of their administrations. Held every four years in Spain, the meeting reviewed the conclusions and demands from the product contact groups of 2025, covering topics such as tomato, strawberry, garlic, peach and nectarine, apple and pear, citrus, table grape, pre-prepared convenience food, and phytosanitary products. It also discussed proposals for the next Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).
In the innovation sector, the Innovation Hub Awards honored the top products and services from 50 entries and 9 finalists. The Fresh Produce award was won by IRTA – Institut de Recerca i Tecnologia Agroalimentàries; Edencore received the award in the F&V Industry category; and Pallet Sure was recognized for Sustainability and Commitment Actions.
Fruit Attraction 2025 also featured the Best Stand Awards, held in partnership with WAH, which honored exhibitors for innovation, design, sustainability, and originality. BayWa Global Produce received the award in the Sustainability category, Fontestad was recognized for Best Design, and BCC – Grupo Cajamar was awarded for the Most Original space. The winners of the ‘Acclaimed by the Public’ category—selected from over 6,000 votes— included Moguer Cuna de Platero in Fresh Produce, Veganic in Auxiliary Industry, Ontime Corporate Union in Fresh Food Logistics, and Hispatec Agrointeligencia in Innova & Tech.
The 15th APAE Journalism Awards and the Fruit Attraction Journalism Award were also presented; this time, the award went to the Fructidor magazine.
Fruit Attraction 2025 was supported by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food at its opening, presided over by Minister Luis Planas.
As in previous years, the fair promoted collecting fruit and vegetables for the Madrid Food Bank, raising a total of 53,412 kilos—6% more than in 2024—highlighting the sector’s commitment to sustainability and solidarity.
Fruit Attraction 2025 had an estimated economic impact of 407 million euros in Madrid and helped preserve 3,066 jobs. This solidifies Fruit Attraction and IFEMA Madrid as important economic and social drivers for the region.
Organized by IFEMA Madrid and Fepex, Fruit Attraction 2026 will take place from October 6 to 8 at the Trade Fair Center.
