Harvesting of Arra 15 grapes commenced last week in northern Greece, says Jupiter Group, with quality of all varieties described as “exceptional”
Jupiter Group has announced the start of harvesting for the first of its exclusive new grape varieties, Arra 15, otherwise known as Arra Sweeties, produced in Kavala in the north of Greece.
“Although the majority of our new varieties will start to be harvested from week 35, the fruit is already of an exceptional standard,” the company stated. “The location of our northern placed vineyards in Kavala has proven to be ideal, with our in-country team reporting that the overall quality across all of our varieties is excellent. Weather permitting, we’re looking forward to our best season yet.”
Jupiter welcomed the recent return of more moderate temperatures of 32oC in the south and around 30oC in the Kavala region.
Loadings from Greece commenced last week, the company revealed, with the first container heading to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, while shipments to East Asia are reportedly set to start in a week’s time.
“As the season progresses, we will continue to provide the latest updates on our other available varieties,” Jupiter stated, “such as Arra 19 (Passion Glow), Arra 32 (Mystic Dream), Sweet Globe, Sugar Crisp and Jack’s Salute.”
